Silver Hill Hospital

“We strive to foster an inclusive and supportive environment to promote healing for each patient who sets foot on this campus.”

Brent Penque, M.D., Ph.D.

Medical Director of Admissions

“We strive to foster an inclusive and supportive environment to promote healing for each patient who sets foot on this campus.”

As the Medical Director of Admissions at Silver Hill, my role is to create a welcoming and healing environment for all patients and families who present to campus. Many patients experience significant anxiety and fears about presenting to a psychiatric facility, and my goal is to help comfort and support them in this first step toward recovery.

One of the highlights of the admissions process is how collaboratively and seamlessly staff work together to meet each patient’s individualized needs. We take the time in admissions to get to know each patient from a holistic approach.  We discuss with them goals of treatment and help to facilitate placing them in the appropriate level of care and programs to meet these unique goals.

I always find myself telling patients that Silver Hill Hospital is unlike any other hospital I have worked at. From the staff who strive to provide the best care for patients to the facilities and programs that this hospital provides, I have never experienced another hospital that provides the same level of patient care.

Furthermore, as a weekend and evening physician on call, I have the unique perspective of seeing patients longitudinally throughout their time here at Silver Hill. This is why I can truly say that Silver Hill Hospital changes lives – from seeing patients at an extremely vulnerable time to the transformative change that has occurred prior to discharge, I can say with absolute confidence that Silver Hill is a beacon of light for patients and families in need.
