Rick Markello, MBA

One of the first things Rick Markello, Silver Hill’s Chief Financial Officer noticed immediately upon arriving at Silver Hill Hospital is the passion that the staff, both clinical and support, have for the patients and for the hospital’s mission of caring.  Virtually every family has been touched by mental health issues in one way or another and Rick is proud to be associated with the team at Silver Hill which is so committed to addressing those needs.  In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Rick strives to creatively figure out how he can fund programs for patient care, facility improvements, and investments in staff advancement in order to continue providing the outstanding care that Silver Hill is known for. 

Rick enjoys working in a management position because he believes he can help make a difference. His diverse work experience in hospitals (academic and community settings), physician groups (multi-specialty and primary care), for-profit and not for profit settings, health insurance companies, and state and local government provide a broad perspective on the health care market and how to create solutions to some of the complex problems we face.

Rick draws upon his experience with organizational start-ups, mergers, business plan development, financial turnarounds, and insurance company contracting to ensure Silver Hill Hospital continues its national leadership position as one of the preeminent private non-profit psychiatric hospitals.
